There is an adage in my language that says, “Let us prepare the barn for the new yam, let us bear and leave a good name behind for our descendantsâ€. It is believed among the Yorubas that names live longer than the bearer. I have heard people say that it’s not about what you are called but what you answer to; so, what exactly is in a name? Many holy books state that a good name is more desirable than great riches and to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. A name is formally registered as belonging to or reserved for someone.
